General

What is Forever Kuddles Fosters?

Forever Kuddles Fosters is a foster-based rescue dedicated to saving puppies and small dogs, providing a safe and loving environment while they prepare for their forever homes.

Where do your puppies come from?

Most of our puppies are rescued from high-risk shelters in the South where they are at risk of euthanasia.

Do you have a facility I can visit?

We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a public shelter. Meet and greets are scheduled after an application is approved.

Adoption process

How do I adopt a puppy?

Fill out an adoption application. Once approved, we will contact you to schedule a meet and greet.

What is the adoption fee?

Our adoption fee typically ranges from $300–$400.

What does the adoption fee include?

Vaccinations (age appropriate), deworming, and microchip. Some puppies may already be spayed or neutered depending on where they were rescued from.

Do you require a home check?

Yes, we may request photos or a virtual home check to ensure a safe environment.

Do you allow same-day adoptions?

No. Applications must be approved before any adoption is finalized.

Spay and neuter

Are the puppies spayed or neutered before adoption?

Most of our puppies are not spayed or neutered yet. We believe this should be done at the appropriate age. Some may already be altered depending on where they came from.

What if my puppy is not spayed or neutered yet?

If the puppy has not yet been altered, adopters are required to spay or neuter their dog at the appropriate time and provide proof to the rescue.

Puppy care and requirements

Are the puppies potty trained?

It depends on their age and time in foster. Some are doing well, some are still learning, and many are in between.

Are the puppies vaccinated?

Yes, they receive age-appropriate vaccinations, but may not be fully vaccinated yet.

When is it safe to take my puppy out in public?

It depends on the puppy's vaccination status. Puppies should have their full vaccinations before walking on the ground in public, high-traffic areas, to avoid serious diseases like Parvovirus. Until then, you can still prioritize safe socialization: carry your puppy, use a stroller, or visit private, controlled environments with vaccinated pets so they can experience new sights, sounds, and gentle handling without the same level of risk as busy sidewalks or dog parks.

How do I socialize my puppy?

Safe socialization is important before your puppy is fully vaccinated. Good options include carrying them on outings so they observe the world from your arms, stroller walks in calmer settings, short visits with trusted friends and their healthy, vaccinated dogs in private yards, and positive exposure to household sounds, surfaces, and handling at home. Ask your vet about puppy socialization classes in your area—many use controlled spaces or require vaccination milestones. Avoid dog parks, pet-store floors, and other high-traffic public ground until your vet confirms your puppy is protected.

Foster questions

Do you need fosters?

Yes, we are always looking for reliable fosters.

What do I need to foster?

A safe home, time, and commitment. We provide all supplies and cover medical care.

How long do I foster a puppy?

Typically 2–4 weeks, depending on age and adoption timing.

Other

Do you adopt out of state?

Yes. We can help arrange transport for a fee, or adopters are welcome to pick up in person.

Can I reserve a puppy?

We do not hold puppies without an approved application and deposit.

What if I can't keep my adopted puppy?

We work hard to match our puppies with the right homes to prevent this. However, if within a reasonable time it's not the right fit, we will work with you to find a puppy that better suits your home.

How can I help if I can't adopt?

You can foster, donate, share our posts, or volunteer.
